Six Nations Rugby Championship. Ireland v France, Saturday 14.02.15, 17:00.

The first home match at the Aviva Stadium of the 2015 Six Nations Championship kicked off at 17:00, with Ireland taking on the French team. In a match short on explosive rugby the home team had a victory. In my opinion Ireland never looked in danger. I didn't have a ticket but happily watched the match on the TV with stilpixette the younger, waving flags at appropriate moments and shouting 'C'mon Eyerland' at frequent intervals. Before the match kick off I took a stroll around the area, taking some photographs as I moved around. The RTE TV coverage was decent. Kiwi Brent Pope seems to have been relegated to the touchline interview, making room for Ronan O'Gara's suit I suppose. Ronan was sporting a grey suit today with distracting stripes. Weapons grade stripes. However nothing could distract me from George Hook. His history laced bon mots have become tiresome, a man who just doesn't get the modern game. He reminded me of Winston Churchill talking about Brit Pop.
